FRISUR’s AW17 collection is an homage to the Artist who has a curious eye, who doesn’t take things as they are given. The Artist approaches situations with an open mind and is as creative within restraints as with freedom.
Drawing inspiration from the Artist, traditional silhouettes meet contemporary ideas this season at FRISUR. Clashing patterns, timeless styles and a sensitive aesthetic combine, providing an overall eclectic feel. Styling is relaxed yet refined across both the men’s and women’s collections, combined with oversized cuts and gender neutral pieces which begin to question aesthetic and gender conventions.
Soft brushed flannel shirting, Italian merino knitwear and cozy wool blend jerseys return for the winter, alongside the introduction of shiny silk blends and water resistant brushed cotton. This season FRISUR has introduced more graphical pieces and newly developed styles which provide the opportunity for more expressive styling, while classic FRISUR staples are revisited and reworked, resulting in a collection which remains timeless and true to FRISUR’s minimalistic aesthetic.
Following the theme of The Artist, this seasons object has been designed by FRISUR themselves. „Untitled“ is an organised stack of eight deconstructed notebooks which draw inspiration from the Artist at work. The object is closely connected to pieces such as the JEPPE knitted jumper and the KATA dress where the layering of pages is translated into graphic compositions and the literal layering of textiles.
As ever, all pieces are constructed to the highest standards in artisanal European facilities, and are intended to age over many seasons with all the character of the person wearing them.
At FRISUR an object forms an integral part of each seasons collection. It both references and inspires the clothing and vice-versa closes the gap between fashion and product.
Inspired by how artists collect and document their ideas, thoughts and experiences, „Untitled“ is a collection of eight notebooks. Each notebook holds 12 pages of raw high quality Munken paper. Gently embossed, numbered by hand and wrapped with a velvet belt to form an organised stack.
The notebooks are manufactured in a limited quantity in Germany.
